Comparing STS contents in science textbooks across countries and areas is one of the important aspects of STS education development and textbook research. This study compared the current elementary science textbooks of two areas in Asia: Chinese Mainland and Taiwan, and explored their STS education respectively. The results show that there are some differences in the way of integration between Mainland and Taiwan textbooks. The former has more kinds and quantities of STS content, while the latter has more pictures and less texts. 摘要

加强科学、技术和社会教育是教育改革的必要组成部分。比较不同国家和地区科学教科书中的STS内容是STS教育发展和教科书研究的重要方面之一。本研究比较了亚洲大陆和台湾地区现有的基础科学教科书,并分别探讨了这两个地区的STS教育。结果显示,大陆与台湾教科书在整合方式上存在一定差异。前者STS内容种类多、数量多,后者图片多、文字少。在此基础上,提出了以下建议:根据新课程标准修订科学教科书,引入新的STS内容,以达到学生理解STS与环境关系的目的;将STS的元素充分融入每个单元,特别是将科学知识与日常生活和社会联系起来;鼓励学生积极探索不同层面的STS。
