This study aimed to describe the forms of discrimination in thenovel Interior Chinatown and explore the causal factors of discrimination in the novel Interior Chinatown. The method in this research was literary criticism using a sociological approach with an analysis of discriminationbased on a perspective by Thomas F. Pettigrew. This research's data source was the novel Interior Chinatown, published in 2020 with 257 pages. This research employed the theory of discrimination by Thomas F.Pettigrew. The results of this study were; (1) the forms of discrimination against Taiwanese Americans in the novel Interior Chinatown consist of two types: direct and indirect. 摘要
本研究以文学社会学为研究对象,着重探讨余志明小说《中国城内陆》中台籍美国人的歧视问题。本研究旨在描述小说《中国城》中歧视的表现形式,并探讨小说《中国城》中歧视的成因。本研究的方法是基于托马斯·佩蒂格鲁(Thomas F. Pettigrew)的观点,运用社会学方法进行文学批评,并对歧视进行分析。本研究的数据来源是小说《唐人街内部》,于2020年出版,共257页。本研究采用Thomas F.Pettigrew的歧视理论。本研究的结果是;(1)小说《中国城内陆》对台籍美国人的歧视形式分为直接歧视和间接歧视两种。直接歧视包括七种形式的歧视,即:国籍歧视、种族歧视、身体暴力歧视、肤色歧视、地域歧视、年龄歧视和性别歧视。间接歧视包括五种形式的歧视,即:政府禁止台湾移民在美国拥有房产的规定、政府限制在美国拥有房产的规定、政府限制工作类型和环境的规定、政府对台湾移民的法律限制的规定、政府对移民婚姻的严格规定;(2)小说《中国城内陆》中台籍美国人受到歧视的原因有两个方面;它们是刻板印象和偏见。
