Yuan, Tong Gao","doi":"10.12783/ballistics22/36197","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"Two kinds of 9mm bullets whose armor are all copper, internal steel, lead respectively blunting gelatin target with soft armor are studied in this paper, mechanical responses of gelatin with body armor to non-penetrating ballistic impact is analyzed through the test and simulation research, and the pressure peak of gelatin in specific locations, warhead deformation, the number of layers soft protection through are analyzed, the results of simulation and test are consistent basically, then the accuracy of the simulation model is verified, mechanical parameter such as the pressure, stress in the gelatin, displacement, acceleration are obtained. The results showed that: gelatin is still under big pressure and acceleration shock. The pressure peak of different position can be solved quickly by polynomial fitting of the pressure peak and the impact point distance.
