Reduction of Energy Consumption for Architectural Lighting Systems
The paper presents an integrated architectural lighting system that includes converters of renewable energy, conversion and monitoring controllers, batteries, microcontroller sensor stations, computing devices and communication modules. The system provides dynamically modifiable characteristics aiming at improving facade visibility based on luminance contrast, power consumption reduction and increasing user awareness. These improvements are also supported by the information gathered from system controllers, illumination and light sensors and that collected over the Internet using dedicated web sites or cloud services. A study case regarding the architectural lighting system of Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Iaşi is described.
