The ability of the metamaterial reflector to transform a linearly polarized incident wave to a cross-polarized or circularly polarized wave is shown. Simulation results shows a cross-polarization average polarization conversion ratio of greater than 80% for normal incident linearly polarized waves over a frequency range of 7.7 GHz to 10.7 GHz.
