Utilizing a hybrid mediadependent and media independent error correction scheme, our proposed framework is capable ofprotecting voice packets against both types of errors. For each group of frames associated with onespeech spurt, the framework finds the optimal parity assignment of each voice frame according toits perceptual importance such that the quality of the received group of frames is maximized.
