A millimeter-wave microstrip patch antenna and 1×4 array for 5G communication
this paper proposed, a millimeter-wave microstrip patch antenna and its 1×4 array for 5G communication. The millimeter-wave microstrip patch antenna is designed on heterogeneous substrate used substrate material is RT/duroid 5880 having relative permittivity 2.2 and its substrate cut slot are filled with air this material relative permittivity is 1. the microstrip line feeding technique is used to feed this antenna. The proposed antenna resonate at 31.76GHz frequency to achieve 9.6dB gain and return loss 15.38dB. The 1×4-element antenna array is designed with dimensions 35×12 mm2 and low cost RT/duroid 5880 material and air is used as the heterogeneous substrate. The return loss of 1×4 array is 51.63dB and gain is 10.83dB at resonant frequency 28.78GHz. The antenna design and simulation is done by using CST studio suit.
