Characteristics and perceptions of today's rural electric customers
Recent customer service surveys of rural electric power customers in east-central Nebraska are discussed. The survey form was similar to one used by Cornhusker Public District in 1985. The format permitted entry of the data into a Lotus 123 spreadsheet for summary and analyses. Questions were included to identify general characteristics of the customer's needs or concerns. The customers also rated the quality of service of their public power district. Future agricultural developments were identified. The surveys were sent out in the January-April period of 1989 as selected by each power district. There were 3822 surveys returned of the 7020 sent out. In the 1985 survey of Cornhusker 2940 responses were received. The combination of the two surveys represents 6762 rural households. The graphical results of the survey which are presented are the combined results for the four public power districts, Butler, Polk, Seward and York.<>
