Characteristic features of a pulsed dye laser used as the absorption monitoring light have been fully utilized to give an excellent performance with high resolution in both time and spectrum and high sensitivity which allows the use of low concentration samples. Among them, the amplifiability of dye laser was the key to make the whole system very simple and easy to operate.
