The purpose of the article is to determine the optimal parameters of downhole reactive power compensators. The installation parameters of the electric centrifugal pumps for oil production are considered. The study presents the optimal power’s curves of downhole compensators for submersible asynchronous motors with 110 kW, 125 kW, 140 kW and 160 kW power. The economic effect of reducing active power losses in the supply cable and the annual reduced unit costs are taken into account. According to the proposed method, the optimal power of the downhole compensator for a 125 kW submersible asynchronous electric motor is calculated.
