Part of these reforms included the introduction of competency-based education (CBE) in science departments. The Tokiwa competencies indicator was developed and comprises 19 competencies. Starting with the 2017 syllabi, the university established a relationship between course designs and the Tokiwa competencies. The current study analyzed student’s row grade data against four Tokiwa core competencies extracted from the 19 competencies.
