Coaching

This article shows the findings of an online survey of 68 coaches concerning proximity and distance within the coaching relationship building. The outcome underscores the relevance of professional reflection and critical analysis of Coaching relationship building in consideration of coaches’ and clients’ proximity and distance needs. The author demonstrates respondent’s perspectives on proximity and distance as an education topic, as part of the occupational routine and as challenges in the working alliance between coach and client. Based on the findings of the survey, conclusions relating to the coaching practice are drawn and proximity and distance are pointed out as regulating mechanisms.
