Current source resonant inverter (CSRI) is the heart of many systems and equipment. There are limitations of two-element resonant topologies, which can be overcome by adding a third energy storage element. This paper introduces /spl pi/-CLL CSRI, which has very smooth waveforms of output voltage and current, and very low THD value. It effectively reduces the power losses and largely increases the current transfer gain. Simulation and test results verified our design and analysis.
