Starting from the perspective of top management team (TMT) and its members' leadership sources, this paper explored the impact of TMT managerial discretion on strategic flexibility of SMEs, based on the resource based view. Using the sample of 165 China's listed SMEs, the empirical research identified TMT managerial discretion derived from task environment and TMT managerial discretion derived from organization as key influential factors of strategic flexibility of SMEs. However, the impact of TMT managerial discretion derived from team power-base on strategic flexibility of SMEs was not significant. 摘要

在中国经济转型期的背景下,战略灵活性是中国中小企业能够及时有效地应对快速变化的环境的关键能力。本文从高管团队及其成员的领导来源视角出发,基于资源基础的观点,探讨了高管团队管理自由裁量权对中小企业战略灵活性的影响。以165家中国上市中小企业为样本,实证研究发现,任务环境的TMT管理自由裁量权和组织的TMT管理自由裁量权是影响中小企业战略灵活性的关键因素。而基于团队权力基础的TMT管理自由裁量权对中小企业战略灵活性的影响不显著。实证结果还显示,战略灵活性对中小企业成长绩效有正向影响。
