An efficient solution proposed in this paper comprises a collaborative IoT platform that monitors each neighbourhood and alerts the inhabitants and the response teams when a danger occurs either in their households or in other neighbouring buildings. In order to cover a large area and to reduce the costs related to energy consumption, the solution described uses LoRa technology for monitoring and WiFi communication only for alerting purposes.
