The cost of aluminium formwork is much costlier, so thin and lightweight aluminium sheets are used. With regard to the concrete filler, excess stress onto the formwoks causes bulging deformation. To avoid excessive stress, this formwork has to be monitored periodically. In this research, an attempt has been made to monitor the aluminium surface deformities by employing a microstrip patch antenna onto the surface. An omni - directional antenna for Aluminium substrate is designed to reconfigure with the stress applied, as the stress applied is directly proportional to its dielectric characteristics. With the information gathered from VNA, the stress level of the formwork is known to provide additional support, if necessary.
