Revisión de procedimientos metodológicos para la reconstrucción glaciar y el cálculo de la altitud de la línea de equilibrio

The equilibrium line altitude of the glaciers indicates at what point the glacier is in equi librium with the climate, at that point the amount of gained mass is equivalent to the lost mass. Is very common the use of the equilibrium line altitude as a climatic indicator, for this reason it is necessary to have the current status of the glaciers, or their state during the glacial phase we want to reconstruct. To obtain these data it is necessary to have the surface and, ideally, the volume of the glaciers. In order to obtain these delimitation a metholodogy is proposed, which consist of carrying out geomorphological sketches, in order to be able to deduce the limits reached by the ice in other periods and, after that, to carry out a reconstruction and calculation of the equilibrium line altitudes. This study presents the state of the art of the methodologies and procedures used over the last decades to realize glacial reconstructions and calculate the equilibrium line altitude of the glaciers.
