Modelling and Simulations of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Airborne Pulse Doppler Radar
Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) systems possess complex design and high development cost. To reduce development life cycle and cost, modelling of these systems is highly recommended before realization of hardware. This paper presents design, modelling and simulations of AESA system to investigate design parameters towards realization of highly specific Airborne Pulse Radar. AESA System under design includes Antenna Array, Transmit-Receive Module (TRM) Array, RF power combining network, Mono-pulse Comparator and Circulator. Modelling and simulations were performed in System Vue Tool of Keysight Technologies. Simulations were focused to optimize array gain, noise figure and SNR for both Transmit and Receive path.
