During the 12th and 13th centuries a number of developments contributed to a steady increase in over – all economic activity in Kakatiya kingdom. In fact, agriculture was the main occupation during the Kakatiya period, yet, a large number of industries and handicrafts flourished both in rural and urban areas. Textile industry, the leather industry Diamond Industry, Iron Industry etc. played a prominent role in the economic sphere of the Kakatiya kingdom.
