Loss minimization in rural distribution systems from double digit to single digit
Due to the expansion of rural distribution systems (RDSs), distribution loss is increasing day by day. This paper presents a novel approach to minimize the distribution loss of RDSs from double digit to single digit. To minimize the system loss, a simplex algorithm for linear programming is used. The proposed method is tested on a RDS and the test results indicate that it is able to determine the appropriate conductor size for reducing system loss of distribution systems to the intended value.
