A theoretical research of B-G wave mode liquid sensor based on piezoelectric layered structure
Owing to the fact that shear horizontal surface wave devices are suitable for chemical and biological sensing because of their high sensitivity to mass deposition occurring on the device's surface/liquid interface, effects of viscous liquid loading on the characters of B-G wave propagation in the piezoelectric layered structure are investigated. The results obtained indicate that the phase velocity of B-G wave increases while the attenuation coefficient decreases as the thickness of metal layer increases. The conclusions obtained in the paper can provide theoretical basis for the design and development of high-performance liquid sensors.
