The bidirectional decision feedback equalizer (BiDFE) replaces the classical DFE to eliminate inter-symbol interference (ISI). The presented structure takes advantage of pulse compression, the difference in error propagation between the forward DFE and backward DFE, and performs adaptive multichannel combining.
