报道了一个新变种东方Fagus Lipsky var. dentata V. V. Byalt et Firsov var. nova。它是在卡拉恰伊-切尔克斯共和国特别尔金斯基国家自然生物圈保护区的吉尔吉斯河峡谷中发现的。其叶片尖，边缘有8-10个发育良好的尖齿，与东方蓟有明显的区别。叶边缘在型品种是全缘和稍波浪状，有时具圆齿，很少(特别是在外高加索)稍具齿圆齿。
