The electrical engineering also contributes to these new development; grid changes to smart grid with modern protection and control schemes. Generation from solar PV, wind, small hydro, etc. started a new paradigm of Distributed Generation (DG) with advanced Renewable Energy Sources (RES). This is need of the hour also; the entire world is working on it for carbon foot print. DG started a long back war of current (AC and DC), but now working hand in hand with each other for the progress of mankind.On this line, the Nanogrid is being developed for a niche application. The Nanogrid system is smaller than the Microgrid; it is designed for small house, single building or commercial complexes. But due to a lack of development in the protection scheme, the development of DC nanogrid is being constrained. This paper work aims to develop a model, analysis and design of novel protection scheme for DC Nanogrid.
