This includes technical aspects such as application needs, product design and optimization, and validation of battery and rectifier choices. The paper describes the implementation of field tests and discusses the results of the trials. With the operator's major criterion being economical, the paper also includes a life cycle cost analysis of the battery/rectifier system in comparison to conventional systems equipped with VRLA.
