BARTIN IRMAĞI ÜZERİNDE GERÇEKLEŞTİRİLEN TİCARİ ETKİNLİKLERE GENEL BİR BAKIŞ

The purpose of this paper is to study the commercial activities on the river of Bartın from Ottoman period to the Turkish Republic. Another objective of the study is to reveal the relationship between trading transactions on the river of Bartın and development of the Bartın city. Bartın is one of the youngest provinces of Turkey. But it is a settlement that has not been adequately researched in terms of historic and cultural view. From the commercial activities point of view one of the most mobile areas of the North-West Anatolia region. Nonetheless, there has not been a serious study on the trading transactions on the river of Bartın (Parthenios) in the scientific sense. Bartın has  Yrd. Doç. Dr., Bartın Üniversitesi T.C.
