An adaptive digital beamforming monopulse radar system that uses a uniform linear phased array in the receive mode is described. Digital beamforming consists of antenna elements (array), receiver modules, analog-to-digital converters and a controller. These adaptive radar systems have been successfully applied to the practical tasks of processing measured data from the experimental phased-array antennas. These antennas follow the classic "digital beamforming" model since we have available the digitized amplitude and phase of the received signal at every antenna element. In receive mode the main advantages of adaptive radar systems are improved fast adaptive pattern nulling, antenna self-calibration, ultra-low sidelobes and adaptive space-time processing.
