New Memristive Band-Pass and Band-Stop Filter Circuits for Signal Division
This paper presents two circuits: new band-pass filter (BPF), and band-stop filter (BSF), which are derived from a simple passive RLC series circuit by replacing resistor and capacitor with memristor and memcapacitor. Compared with the traditional RLC filter, these new memristive filters show more characteristics like time-varying, flexibility, controllability among others, which highlights their potential usage for traditional signal filtering applications. On this basis, a signal division model is designed by using time-varying cutoff frequencies to divide the original signal into many obbligato parts. The novel circuits are verified by implementing a software simulation, obtaining positive results. Furthermore, the new filter circuits can be employed to other signal processing tasks and the memristive elements also can be extended to the other filter circuits.
