NEMP - Interaction with Multiconductor Transmission Lines
Voltages and currents induced in a multiconductor line by a, nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NEMP) are determined. The finite conductivity of the terrain is taken into, account by introducing a new theory leading to the definition of the complex images of the wires. End voltages and currents at the loads are obtained through the transmission line formalism. These expressions are then cast in a rather enlightening form, well suited for the transient analysis. The solution proposed, with additional assumptions, leads to closed form results, which are also useful to test numerical codes.
