Study to reduce the amount of magnetic materials in IPM motor which focuses on the rare earth magnet usage and demagnetization
Recently, the IPM motors for driving the compressors of the air-conditioners use often the rare-earth magnet. Soaring prices of it, however, is becoming serious problem. In this paper, a new IPM motor, which the use of rare earth magnet is reduced with pay attention to the demagnetization, is proposed.
