Furthermore, the OEM has the possibility of being more flexible when selecting suppliers for base software and hardware and reducing dependency of a single system supplier. One of the main goals for the OEM is to improve containment of product/ process complexity, risk in addressing the challenges of complex software system and ensure it is hardware independent for seamless porting into various supplier hardware.
