BDS satellite functions such as navigation and positioning, high precision timing services, two-way short message communication, wireless communications technology have been used in the method for transmission line intelligent monitoring in the electric power system. The transmission lines temperature measurement instrument based on BDS consists of three parts: temperature measurement module, communication module and power supply module. The instrument can detect transmission line state and can locate the trouble point real-time in order to ensure transmission line normal operation and improve the level of electric power system intelligence. Finally, we make the BDS-based temperature measuring instrument and have a test.
