Most of the people use public transport vehicles to travel in their daily life and the time is wasted while waiting for the public transport vehicles in the absence of correct information. The developed countries are using GPS-based techniques for smart location tracking of the public vehicles but the developing countries still in the phase of developments are trying to automate this. This paper proposes an approach for tracking the real-time location of the vehicles that is cost effective too. The approach adopts the RFID communication techniques for the location tracking. The approach is an alternative solution to existing techniques and more economical than the GPS based technique. The approach shall be able to track the real-time location of the public transport vehicles and also provide the information to the public using a web interface. The proposed model is verified on the Network Simulator 2 (NS2) and efficiency of the approach is measured for different collision scenario. 摘要
