The study is based on the information collected from 500 residents of 23 old age homes of Pune city in India. A multistage random sampling used for the selection of samples. A semi-structured interview schedule was adopted to gather the information from the respondents, the interview schedule was approved by the research ethical board of the institute. To strengthen the study qualitative insights are also gathered using case studies and key informant interviews. About half of the respondents were having issues while adjusting at old age home and similar percent has reported that their life has considerably changed after joining the old age home.
