Due to the fluctuation of renewable energy output, it is difficult for the power grid to dispatch in time, and wind power and photovoltaic are often abandoned, resulting in energy waste. The combination of power to gas (P2G) technology and multi-type energy storage technologies can increase the local consumption of renewable energy and improve the low-carbon economic operation of the energy system. This paper first introduces the principle of P2G technology and various types of energy storage. Then, based on the energy hub model of microgrid, a day ahead optimal scheduling model of microgrid system based on economic optimization is established to tap the potential of P2G to absorb renewable energy.
