Dispersion properties of SSPPs and normalized impedance the unit are analyzed. Based on a smooth transition with simple structure and small size, a compact low-pass filter based on SSPPs is designed. Excellent simulated results (return loss lower than −15.8dB up to 10.1GHz) shows a good balance between broadband features and compact size.
