It is used to overcome the effect of diode bridge rectifier that draws non-sinusoidal current from the AC source and makes the input power factor very poor. The THD of the input current at the AC mains and input power factor are analysed with the diode bridge rectifier, diode bridge rectifier with cuk converter. The proposed system is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink for CCM and DCM modes.
