The control scheme is based on phase advance compensation technique used for the series controller. Using this technique the series controller not only compensates the voltage sag/swell but also controls the flow of power in the grid. The PV supported series controller also include DC-DC boost converter for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and supports the dc link voltage of the VSL The proposed controller successfully controls the flow of power to the grid depending upon the availability of power from the PV system and requirement by the load. Simultaneously it also compensates the sag or swell in the distribution system.
