Specific issues encountered during worldwide pandemics are also reviewed, along with implications for future practice. The family of coronavirus illnesses are highlighted, including Middle East respiratory syndrome, severe acute respiratory syndrome, and coronavirus, which causes coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
