In order to guarantee the TR requirements, the drive was designed with a power reserve. Tests of the SRD-15-1500 prototype showed that the engine efficiency is 94.3% and it is higher than the upper limit of the IE3 energy efficiency range, overheating at rated load was less than 30 °C, and at hourly 150% overload less than 50 °C.
