Analysis of Inherent and Foreign Factors Affecting Performance of Wireless Communication Protocols
In this paper, we are contributing physical testing of parameters and how they affect the real-time performance of wireless protocols which are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and LTE. All the testing scenarios considered for performance analysis are from the real world and are considered as being used by end-users, not from much technical background. All of these protocols are used majorly in Internet of Things, or a new paradigm called Roof Computing. Introducing all of these 3 protocols has a different type of implementation like Wi-Fi being used as a common point to share internet over a certain area. LTE being and faster and mobile-based service to access the internet on the go. While Bluetooth replacing its use case from data transfer from one device to another device from the early 2000s to 2010 replacing IR data transfer, after the introduction of BLE its use case shifted from data transfer to Audio peripherals, Communication between gaming systems and controller which can be Mouse, Keyboard, and Controllers which makes it perfect for such scenarios as it consumes very much less energy and having near-zero latency. a) for a Wi-Fi-based system small changes in manufacturing can lead to longevity of product along with an increase in Quality of Service just like adding heat sinks to budget level routers or providing a PSU which have higher rated power delivery than required. b) For LTE-based devices which are being mostly used in mobile devices manufacturers do certain malpractices so that they can sell the upper model than the user intended like locking carrier aggregation on chipset even though they support it. c) Bluetooth devices being used more and more in past years because the 3.5 mm headphone jack is being removed by certain mobile smartphone manufacturers. Devices available at entry-level or budget range don’t provide certain Quality of Service factors like zero latency for audio channels and not utilizing all of the resources to sell higher-end products. The paper will cover points related.
