The variables used were the teaching treatment of Hot Potatoes Software as the independent variable and the students’ reading comprehension of Descriptive Text as dependent variable. Then, the research designed was Quasi-experimental design and the presentation of data used was quantitative. The data were obtained from the eleventh grade, of which 28 students were taken as sample. The students are divided into two groups; experiment group consisted of 12 students and control group consists of 16 students. To get the data, the pre-test and post-test were applied and then analyzed using t-test formula. The researcher had concluded that there is Significant effect of Hot Potatoes Software toward the students’ reading comprehension achievement. The result showed that mean of students’ post-test was increased. It is proved by the t-test (8.54) which is higher than t-table (2.05) at level of significance 5%. 摘要

本研究的目的是衡量使用Hot potato软件进行阅读教学对学生描述性文本的阅读理解是否有显著影响。使用的变量是Hot potato软件的教学处理作为自变量,学生对描述性文本的阅读理解作为因变量。其次,研究设计为准实验设计,使用的数据是定量的。数据来自高一年级,选取28名学生作为样本。学生们被分成两组;实验组12名,对照组16名。为了得到数据,采用前检验和后检验,然后使用t检验公式进行分析。研究者得出结论:热土豆软件对学生的阅读理解成绩有显著的影响。结果表明,学生的后测平均分有所提高。经t检验(8.54)证明,在显著性水平5%下高于t表(2.05)。这意味着替代假设被接受,证明热土豆软件对学生对描述性文本的阅读理解有显著的影响
