Mixed Path Model for Urban and Suburban City-River Path for 1,400 MHz
This paper presents the use of Mixed Path Model to calculate the path loss in the central frequency of 1,400 MHz, for two types of scenarios: suburban city-river and city with huge buildings-river. Mixed Path Model is based on the Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD) and Geometrical Optics (GO). In order to predict the path loss for the two types of scenarios, Mixed Path Model presents two modifications. First, a correction factor for long distances provided for ITU-R P.1546 is added. The second modification is to calculate coefficients for reflection and diffraction for vertical polarization. The results are similar to the measured data used, evidencing the good performance and applicability of the model.
