The proposed antenna consists of three metallic patches and two foam substrates. A loop structure and a tuning patch is added on the middle patch for impedance matching. It can work when each side of the tag touches the metal. The antenna has a dimension of 52mm × 13mm × 2mm and has a S11< -10dB bandwidth of 880 ~ 930MHz. The maximum read distance is 9.3m.
