To solve the communication problems of Smart Grid., such as unbalanced energy consumption., short network lifetime., and bad data reliability in the AMI network., an ETEN-RPL routing algorithm based on a composite routing metric which combined expected transmission count (ETX) and the remaining energy metrics according to certain weights was naturally proposed to select the preferred parent node. Also., network performances are evaluated through simulating ETEN-RPL routing algorithm on the Cooja simulator under Contiki platform.
