Introdução

This study aimed to characterize and evaluate the physical attributes of organic compounds produced with sewage sludge and waste from the palm heart agribusiness aiming its use as a substrate for the production of forest seedlings. For the composition of compost piles have been made pupunha mixtures of bark and sludge in the ratios 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1, respectively. After the compost was made to characterize the physical attributes of the substrates through determinations of density, total porosity, macroporosity, microporosity, maximum capacity of water retention and particle size with 4 repetitions. It is considered that the materials produced, represented by mixtures of sewage sludge and residues from palm heart in different level has potential as a substrate for the production of forest seedlings, leaving the need for testing with forest seedlings to validate these materials.
