In highly integrated, geographically challenging contexts, this may result in complex logistical systems. Pipelines which transport multiple products connect tanks, forming a particular, self-contained environment where distribution routes (called logistical channels), tactical inventory locations and operational criteria are defined to transfer, receive and deliver liquid oil derivatives.
