H∞ robust fault detection filter in drum boiler systems
In this paper, the robust fault detection filter (RFDF) design problem for linear time-invariant (LTI) with unknown disturbances is studied. The fundamental idea of our study is to introduce a reference residual model generator to formulate the robust fault detection filter as a robust H∞ model matching problem through which the generated residual can be evaluated. By applying the robust H∞ optimization control technique, the reference residual model can take into account the robustness against disturbances and sensitivity to faults simultaneously. The robust H∞ optimization control technique is presented via a linear matrix inequality (LMI) formulation. A drum boiler model is used to demonstrate the design procedures and the applicability of the proposed approach.
