Sink processes the data for further action. These networks are energy constrained and hence communication to sink should be energy efficient. Clustering has been proved to be an effective strategy in WSNs. Member nodes of cluster collect data and send it to their respective cluster heads. It is now the duty of cluster heads to transmit data to the sink. Routing is done during multi-hop transmission to select an optimal route to the sink. The proposed algorithm maintains the clustering in the mobile network and saves the overhead of re-clustering. It is expected to provide better connectivity and performance of the system.
