Multi-sensor module for an unattended surveillance system of public transportation infrastructures
Public infrastructures represent a major application area for embedded systems. This is especially true for public transportation infrastructures with reference to their increasing demand for advanced services relevant to security in a world of increasing turbulence. This paper presents a multi-sensor module that is used in an unattended surveillance system of public transportation infrastructures. The module generates alarms in case of explosions, which trigger the provision of services to Search and Rescue teams relevant to the current state of the different parts of the transportation infrastructure and the existence of people that are in need of help. Work in this paper has been funded by the ASPIS project [1].
